Dar Hayet
Opinion
An upmarket and intimate boutique style property with none of the trappings of a larger complex. The emphasis is on personal service, tranquil surroundings and unpretentious style. Attracts couples and families with older children seeking a quality orientated base in the style of a Moorish riad.
Exterior
Smart and well maintained with many authentic Moorish fittings. The balconies are particularly attractive with arches and columns whilst the small discreet entrance is approached by a slope from the roadside.
Property type: Hotel
Storeys: 3
Built Year: 1996
Interior
The cool cream marble communal areas provide a feeling of subtle grandeur with many authentic artefacts and paintings on display. The main restaurant is particularly well appointed and offers sweeping sea views over to the old medina.

Grounds
The cramped grounds become busy when the property is full. Narrow lawns overlook the sea and a few steps lead down to the narrow sandy beach. The pool has a narrow surround but has little room for any activities other than sunbathing.
Location
Area Type: On the edge of a narrow beach, 400 yds from Hammamet old town and the medina, surrounded by smart villas and bungalows. Situated on a rather busy corner with a few local shops 200 yds along the road. Bus stop 150 yds, taxi rank 200 yds.
Nearest beach: immediate (Hammamet)
