Aliathon Holiday Village
This property is unrivalled in its Holiday Village status within the resort and exceeds the A class grading awarded to the top-end, self-catering complexes in Cyprus. The vast differences between the two villages cleverly suits all markets, from the peace, tranquillity and traditional offerings of the Aegean Village to the modern, upbeat, activity-centred Fishing village. With all-inclusive as an option, there is a good array of unique and stylish dining, bar and entertainment facilities, and for those wishing to venture outside the property there is a further choice on the doorstep and beyond.
Exterior
Although guests share all facilities, the holiday village is split into two distinctly different villages. The original, known as the Aegean Village, is built in the architectural style of the region in Greece it is named after, with its white-cubed buildings and Mediterranean blue railings, shutters and doors. Ninety eight of the apartments are situated here throughout the many blocks, with spacious balconies and terraces housing modern furniture including tables, chairs, sunbeds and parasols. The newer addition completed in 2008 is the Fishing Village, built in the style of the Greek island of Symi with its stately, pastel-coloured, neo-classical town houses, again with spacious balconies and fashionable furnishings. The entrance to the holiday village has a manned barrier in operation that leads to the ample car park and reception area, which is located at the entrance to the Aegean Village. The grand Pantheon Hall, which is well-appointed between the two villages, is both stylish and dignified with its domed roof, ornate balustrades and pillars and is the main entertainment venue.
Property type: Holiday Village
Interior
The reception area, lobby and Greek taverna are situated in the Aegean Village and are in tune with its style, featuring homely furniture, beamed ceilings and stone floors. In stark contrast, the main entertainment centre of Pantheon Hall is stylish, chic and elegant. There resides the extensive main buffet restaurant with its low lighting and high-backed brown leather dining furniture; the vibrant Mexican restaurant with its wooden furnishings and bright coloured walls and tiles; the sophisticated main bar with immaculate white leather seating; and the spacious entertainment bar with outdoor stage and seating. The lighthouse and harbour building of the Fishing Village play host to the ultra-modern adults-only bar, stone-built pool and snack bar, and well-equipped gym, spa and indoor pool.
Rooms: 244
Grounds
The well-maintained gardens throughout both villages display an abundance of colourful flowers that have been thoughtfully landscaped. The Aegean Village has the addition of mature, lush lawns while the Fishing Village features more rockeries and flowerbeds throughout its winding pathways. The Aegean Village, which features quiet terraces and a pretty square adjoined to a traditional Greek church, also has two good sized pools with bars and ample sunbeds, one of which has an attractive rock formation waterfall and sloped beach-like entry. The tennis courts and bowling green are located here. The enormous fishing village pool also has a sloped entry and surrounds the centrally located lighthouse like a moat. There is a large separate children's pool with many exceptional features more attune to the children's section in a waterpark. The children's playground, while not shaded, has rubber flooring and is adjacent to the kids' club and crèche, the giant ropes course, complete with harnesses and instructors, and the astroturf football pitch.
Location
Area Type: Situated on a quiet side street off the coastal road, with its wide choice of restaurants and bars, that leads to the harbour 2.5km away and can be accessed from the bus stop outside. In the opposite direction, the coastal road houses mainly four-star hotels towards its final destination of Geroskipou Beach 750 metres away. To the front there is a number of mellow, chic, cafe bars, international restaurants and a well-known branded ice cream parlour that guest have a discount card for. The sides and rear are surrounded by flat agricultural land with views to the hills. Paphos waterpark, mini-golf course, horse-riding centre and go-karting course are all within a 10-minute walk.
