Agapinor Hotel

3 Star

This dated property is in an ideal position for exploring the resort's old town by foot. Accessible public transport means links to wider areas, therefore suiting the older age group or the culture vulture looking for a base to explore away from the tourist hub. Although the property is compact, consisting of one building and a notable lack of grounds, it has been cleverly designed hosting three dining areas and three bars without feeling cluttered.

Exterior

A grey, tired-looking rectangular block of roughcast concrete with shops at ground level and compact steel balconies to both the front and rear of the property, with small white plastic table and chairs on each. Views from the front of the property are of the main road, shops and unkempt residential apartments, and to the rear there are similar style apartments with the exception of a limited number above the bar terrace, which share panoramic views to the coast. There is a private car park to the rear adjacent to the pool area.

Property type: Hotel

Storeys: 4

Built Year: 1982

Interior

The reception with its dark wooden panels and furniture, also features floor-to-ceiling windows the length of the lobby with views to the rear of the property when the blinds are lifted. The green and yellow leather sofas, mosaic tiled floor and plants add a touch of colour. An extension of the lobby is the conventional main bar that leads onto a popular terrace with wicker furniture and sea views. The two main featureless restaurants are situated on the floor below that is accessed by stairs or a small lift. Decor is well-maintained throughout and is adorned with the many repetitive notices advising dress codes, drink offers and services at reception.

Rooms: 73

Grounds

A confined area with ample blue and white striped sunbeds and yellow and white striped parasols surrounding the pool. A minimal number of potted plants are dotted around the crazy paving with a prominent palm tree as a centre piece.

Location

Area Type: Situated on a busy main road and centrally located within the main shopping district of the old town, which along with the local market, district museum and town hall, is primarily the residential district of Paphos. While these attractions are within a short walking distance, the main tourist centre and the closest beach are to be found 2km away downhill, and can be reached by local bus that stops directly outside the hotel.

Nearest beach: Paphos Harbour (Paphos)
