Macronissos Village Club

A pleasant, self-contained holiday village with the option to upgrade to half-board or all-inclusive, which, due to its distance from the centre of resort, is a popular choice. Delightful grounds host entertainment for adults and children throughout the day and evening, and, as the property is solely for Olympic guests, has a decidedly British feel about it. A good choice of property for families who wish to spend the majority of their holiday time utilising the complex's facilities. It is within easy reach of the resort centre by public transport or walking distance to the three sandy beaches, where the water is crystal-clear and there is safe shallow bathing – a great attraction for staying in this region of the resort. Generally well-maintained throughout, external upgrading is required to a handful of the buildings, but overall exceeds its B grade classification.

Exterior

Built in a village style with bungalows in bold colours of deep orange, blue and claret, and two-storey clusters of apartment blocks in beige. Balconies and terraces are spacious and most buildings are well-maintained, some with feature arches. A limited car park at the front of the complex also has disabled spaces and houses the supermarket and reception building. Further car parks are located at the rear and have controlled gates, of which the remote can be obtained from reception with a deposit.

Interior

The generously sized reception features comfortable modern seating and wicker tables and chairs leading onto a large, unused terrace. The basement below contains the compact gym, sauna and indoor kids' club. The restaurant, located next to the pool, is bright and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows and basic furnishings.

Grounds

Grounds are spacious and rich in greenery with lush lawns, mature trees and flowering bushes. The tidy pathways throughout are bordered with neat hedges and all areas are well-maintained. There is also a grass football pitch, volleyball court and children's playground. The sizeable freeform pool with rock features, bridge and Jacuzzi is overseen by a lifeguard and is bordered by the large pool bar and seating area, where the stage for evening entertainment is set.

Location

Area Type: Situated on the edge of the resort in the Macronissos area, 500 metres away from the resort and past Nissi. The centre of the resort is 2km along the coast road, which is lined in most parts with shops, bars and restaurants. It can be reached in 30 minutes on foot or five minutes by bus, which stops directly outside the complex. There is a supermarket at the entrance and a small choice of bars and restaurants can be found in the vicinity. The sandy beach is a five-minute walk away, as is the largest waterpark on the island, Waterworld.
