The main beaches – of mainly sugary, silver sand – begin at the harbour and extend approximately 1½ mls E. Others are at Nissi Bay, 1¾ mls W of the harbour, Makronissos and Limanaki beach (near the town centre) 1½ mls beyond that. Sun umbrellas and sunbeds available in abundance. Some interesting rock formations ("the Palaces") dot the coast between Limanaki Beach and Cape Greco. The beaches are gently shelving with calm waters, so ideal for children, with lifeguards on duty during summer.
